cell adhesion molecules play a role in cell growth and activation and are often identified by WB or ELISA as in the CEACAM 1,5,6,8 (Carcinoembryonic Antigen Adhesion Molecule).Antigens are peptides or recombinant or native dependent on the production method.For cells, cell lines and tissues in culture till half confluency.Whole adhesion and interacting molecules are  present in lysates used as reference for ELISA quantification of these molecules and their subunits.

Store the antibody at +4 degrees Celsius for short term storage.. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze the antibody should be stored at -20 degrees Celsius.. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months the antibody should be stored at -20 degrees Celsius.. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Broadly reactive antibody which reacts with most of the CEACAM molecules characterized to date (except CEACAM3, CEACAM4 and CEACAM7) (4). Can be used to detect CEACAM1 (BGP/CD66a), CEACAM5 (CEA/CD66e), CEACAM6 (NCA/CD66c) and CEACAM8 (CGM6/CD66b) on transiently transfected BOSC23 cells by flow cytometry. Included and characterized in the studies from the VIth Leucocyte Typing Workshop (4).; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.
